Knits for Boys: Little Men Knitalong

This morning I shipped out my first batch of autographed Knits for Boys books! A couple folks in close proximity will get their copies tomorrow, and most others will get them on Friday.  All the designs have now been entered into the Ravelry Database so even if your book is not yet in hand (I am not sure if Amazon will be shipping before March 1 or not!) you can definitely start deciding what you’ll be casting on for first by taking a look online.

IMG_0730And once you’ve decided… you’ll be ready to join the knitalong!  Clear your knitting calendar in time to cast on March 19.

You can knit anything you want from the book. Our KAL sponsor is A Good Yarn Sarasota, a shop I love and have visited several times! Order yarn for your knitalong project through A Good Yarn and get a 10% discount with the code littlemen. The shop will also have copies of the book so go ahead and order it along with your yarn if you have not already!

A Good Yarn has an incredible selection of the best yarns available including a whole lot of what I featured in the book, so the perfect fit for this KAL! Not everything is on the website but the shop will also take phone orders; just mention the code when you call 941.487.7914.

Here is a list of yarn from Knits for Boys available at A Good Yarn:
Spud and Chloe Sweater & Fine (these should be going on the website soon if you want to give it a few days–I will update with the link once it’s available)
Big Bad Wool
Anzula
Skacel Yarns
Madelinetosh
Berroco

Another yarn available on the shop website is Rowan Pure Wool Worsted. I haven’t personally worked with this yarn but the colors look great and I’ve never been disappointed in Rowan. There are a ton of worsted projects in the book that I believe would be a great fit!

Unlike other knitalongs I have hosted, this time you are “allowed” to start early and still be eligible for prizes.  I do not want to hamper you in your Knits for Boys glory! But, I wanted to allow folks that needed to gather supplies enough time to do so.

So please, jump right into the knitalong by clicking here to check it out.  Stay tuned for all the prize details, which were provided by the generous companies who supported the book including Anzula, Berroco, Lorna’s Laces, Plucky Knitter, Skacel & Spud & Chloe!
